Director of The Alliance, Stop Foodborne Illness

Dr. Vanessa Coffman is the Director of The Alliance for Stop Foodborne Illness, which brings together consumer advocates, leading companies, and like-minded organizations committed to preventing foodborne disease. With a PhD in Environmental Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins and an MS from UC Berkeley, she has worked in policy analysis, conducted UN research in Sierra Leone, and led studies on agricultural exposures and drinking water safety. Vanessa has testified before U.S. officials, co-authored peer-reviewed papers, and helped draft federal regulations. In her spare time, she fosters dogs, travels with her husband and son, and enjoys trying new foods.
